Initial Setup

Prepare device for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open compartment, insert 2 AAA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Attach cuff: Connect air hose to main unit until it clicks.
  3. Set date/time: Press MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust.
  4. Test device: Perform a measurement to ensure proper operation (see Section 7).

Tip: Use fresh alkaline batteries for best performance. Remove batteries if not used for extended periods.

Taking a Measurement

For accurate results, follow these steps carefully.

  1. Rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid caffeine, exercise, and smoking for 30 minutes prior.
  2. Sit comfortably with back straight, feet flat on floor.
  3. Place cuff on left wrist (unless instructed otherwise by physician). Position cuff 0.5-1 inch above wrist bone with display facing upward.
  4. Wrap cuff snugly using Velcro closure.
  5. Rest elbow on table, raise wrist to heart level. Keep cuff at heart level throughout measurement.
  6. Press START/STOP button. Device will inflate automatically.
  7. Remain still and quiet until measurement is complete. Results display with systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings.
  8. Record reading if desired. Device automatically stores it in memory.
  9. Remove cuff by releasing Velcro.

WARNING! Do not move or talk during measurement. Ensure cuff is at heart level for accuracy.

Memory Function

Store and recall past readings.

  1. To view memory: Press MEMORY button. Display shows average of last 3 readings.
  2. To scroll: Press START/STOP to view individual readings with date and time.
  3. To clear memory: Press and hold MEMORY button for 5 seconds until "CLR" appears. Release to clear all stored data.

Tip: Memory is useful for tracking trends. Record readings in a log for doctor visits.

Care & Maintenance

Keep device clean and functional.

  1. Clean cuff with mild soap and damp cloth; do not immerse in water.
  2. Wipe main unit with dry, soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  3. Store in carrying case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  4. Replace batteries when low battery icon appears.
  5. Inspect cuff periodically for wear or damage.
