Parts Identification

Identify the main components of your blood pressure monitor.

  1. Main Unit: Contains the LCD display and control buttons.
  2. D-Ring Cuff: Wraps around your upper arm with Velcro closure.
  3. Air Tube: Connects the cuff to the main unit.
  4. START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops the measurement.
  5. MEMORY Button: Accesses stored readings.

Initial Setup

Prepare the monitor for first use by installing batteries and setting the date/time.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing correct polarity.
  2. Set date and time: Press SET button, use START/STOP to adjust values, press SET to confirm.
  3. Apply the cuff: Wrap cuff snugly around bare upper arm, 1-2 cm above elbow.
  4. Position yourself: Sit comfortably with back supported, feet flat, arm resting at heart level.

CAUTION! Use only recommended batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate blood pressure readings.

  1. Rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid eating, smoking, or exercising 30 minutes prior.
  2. Sit correctly on a chair with back supported, feet flat on floor.
  3. Apply cuff to left upper arm (or as directed by physician).
  4. Position arm so cuff is at heart level, palm facing upward.
  5. Press START/STOP button. Monitor will inflate automatically.
  6. Remain still and quiet during measurement.
  7. Reading will display when measurement is complete.
  8. To turn off, press START/STOP again or wait for auto power-off.

Tip: Take measurements at the same time each day for consistent tracking.

Understanding the Display

The LCD shows various icons and values during and after measurement.

Main Display Areas: Systolic pressure (larger number), Diastolic pressure (smaller number), Pulse rate.

Icons: Irregular Heartbeat symbol, Body Movement symbol, Hypertension Indicator (if reading is high), Memory recall number, Date and Time, Battery level, User indicator (if multiple users).

Average Reading: Displayed when last 3 readings taken within 10 minutes are available.

Memory Function

Store and review up to 60 blood pressure readings.

  1. To view memory: Press MEMORY button. Most recent reading displays first.
  2. Scroll through memory: Press START/STOP button to view older readings.
  3. View average: When in memory mode, average of displayed reading and previous two appears.
  4. Clear memory: While in memory mode, press and hold SET button for 3 seconds until "CLR" flashes.

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are replaced if done within 3 minutes.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care ensures accurate measurements and long device life.

  1. Clean cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash or immerse in water.
  2. Clean main unit with slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  3. Store in carrying case when not in use, avoiding extreme temperatures and humidity.
  4. Remove batteries if monitor will not be used for 3 months or longer.
