Omron M2 Instruction Manual

Preparation for Use

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter (optional): Plug into DC jack on side of unit.
  3. Apply cuff: Sit comfortably, wrap cuff around bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow.
  4. Position cuff: Ensure air tube runs down center of arm toward palm.
  5. Secure cuff: Tighten so two fingers fit between cuff and arm.

WARNING! Do not use on infants, children, or persons unable to express themselves. Consult physician before use if you have arrhythmia or other circulatory conditions.

Taking a Measurement

For accurate results, rest for 5 minutes before measuring.

  1. Sit correctly: Sit with back straight, feet flat on floor, arm supported at heart level.
  2. Position cuff: Ensure cuff is at heart level (marked on cuff).
  3. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button. Unit will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain still: Do not move or talk during measurement.
  5. Read results: Systolic, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate display on screen.
  6. Memory storage: Reading is automatically stored with date and time.
  7. Power off: Unit turns off automatically after 1 minute.

CAUTION! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped around arm. Avoid taking measurements immediately after eating, bathing, exercising, or consuming caffeine.

Front Panel: START/STOP button, MEMORY button, USER button (1/2).

Operation: Press START/STOP to begin measurement. Press MEMORY to review stored readings. Press USER to switch between User 1 and User 2 memory banks.

Memory Function

Stores up to 60 readings with date and time stamp.

  1. Select user: Press USER button to select User 1 or User 2.
  2. View memory: Press MEMORY button to display stored readings.
  3. Navigate: Press MEMORY repeatedly to scroll through readings.
  4. Clear memory: Hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds to clear current user's memory.
  5. Average reading: Display shows average of last 3 readings for current user.

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are removed (for approximately 5 minutes).

Care & Maintenance

Clean with soft, dry cloth only. Do not use alcohol, thinner, or other chemicals.

  1. Cuff cleaning: Wipe with damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry completely.
  2. Storage: Store in carrying case in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  3. Battery replacement: Replace when low battery symbol appears.
  4. Cuff inspection: Check for cracks or damage before each use.

CAUTION! Do not immerse unit in water. Do not disassemble or attempt repairs. Keep away from children.
