Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before use. For personal home use only.

  1. Do not use on infants, young children, or persons unable to express themselves.
  2. Do not use while operating a vehicle or machinery.
  3. Consult your physician before use if you have arrhythmia, blood circulation problems, or other serious conditions.
  4. Do not inflate the cuff when it is not wrapped around your arm.
  5. Keep the monitor and cuff away from high temperatures, humidity, direct sunlight, and dust.

Parts Identification

Familiarize yourself with the main components.

  1. Main Unit: Contains display, control buttons, and internal pump.
  2. Arm Cuff: With Velcro closure and air tube. Marked with artery position guide.
  3. AC Adapter Jack: For connecting the optional AC adapter (Model EA-AC85).
  4. Battery Compartment: Holds 4 AA batteries.
  5. START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops measurement.
  6. MEMORY Button: Recalls stored readings.
  7. LCD Display: Shows measurement results, icons, and date/time.

CAUTION! Do not bend or twist the air tube excessively.

Initial Setup

Prepare the monitor for first use.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment on the back. Insert 4 new AA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Set Date and Time: Press and hold the MEMORY button for 3 seconds. Use the START/STOP button to adjust values. Press MEMORY to confirm.
  3. Connect Cuff: Plug the cuff tube connector firmly into the port on the side of the main unit.
  4. AC Adapter (Optional): Plug the adapter into the jack and then into a standard 120V AC wall outlet. The monitor will use AC power when connected.

Tip: For the most accurate readings, rest for 5 minutes before measuring.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for a proper reading.

  1. Sit comfortably on a chair with your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at the same level as your heart.
  3. Wrap the cuff around your bare upper arm. The bottom edge should be 1-2 cm above your elbow. The artery mark (△) should align with the center of your arm.
  4. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically.
  5. Remain still and quiet until the measurement is complete and the cuff deflates.
  6. Your systolic/diastolic pressure and pulse rate will be displayed.
  7. The reading is automatically stored in memory (if memory is on).

WARNING! Do not move your arm or talk during measurement.

Memory Function

The monitor stores readings for two users (User 1 and User 2).

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are removed.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug AC adapter and remove batteries before cleaning.

  1. Main Unit: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or abrasive cleaners.
  2. Cuff: Can be cleaned with a cloth dampened with mild soapy water. Do not immerse in water or machine wash. Air dry completely.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store with the cuff tightly wrapped or bent.
  4. Batteries: Replace all 4 batteries when the low battery icon appears. Remove batteries if the monitor will not be used for 3 months or more.

CAUTION! Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit.
