Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before use. This device is for home monitoring only, not for professional diagnosis.

  1. Do not use on infants, small children, or persons who cannot express themselves.
  2. Do not use during or immediately after intense physical exercise, bathing, eating, or drinking alcohol/caffeine.
  3. Consult your physician before use if you have an arrhythmia, heart disease, or circulatory problems.
  4. Do not modify the cuff or tubing.
  5. Keep the device away from strong electromagnetic fields (e.g., microwave ovens, mobile phones).

WARNING! Do not use the monitor as the sole basis for diagnosis or treatment decisions. Always consult your physician.

Parts Identification

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your monitor.

  1. Main Unit: Contains the display, control buttons, and air pump.
  2. D-Ring Cuff: Wraps around the upper arm. The metal D-ring secures the cuff.
  3. Air Tube: Connects the cuff to the main unit.
  4. START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops the measurement.
  5. Memory (M) Button: Accesses stored readings and user settings.
  6. User Button (1/2): Selects between User 1 and User 2 memory profiles.
  7. Battery Compartment: Holds 4 AA batteries.
  8. AC Adapter Jack: For optional AC power (adapter model: EA-AC85).

CAUTION! Do not bend or kink the air tube excessively, as this may cause inaccurate readings.

Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Power on the monitor and set the date/time before first use.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Insert 4 new AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the cover securely.
  4. Press the START/STOP button. The display will show all segments briefly.
  5. Use the Memory (M) button to enter the clock setting mode. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the current date and time.
  6. Select your user number (1 or 2) using the User button.

Tip: For consistent power, use the optional AC adapter. Remove batteries if the monitor will not be used for 3 months or longer.

Applying the Cuff

Correct cuff placement is essential for an accurate reading.

  1. Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and back supported.
  2. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at the same level as your heart.
  3. Slide your arm through the D-ring cuff. The bottom edge should be 1-2 cm above your elbow.
  4. Wrap the cuff snugly around your bare upper arm. The air tube should run down the center of your inner arm.
  5. Secure the cuff by pressing the fabric closure firmly.
  6. Ensure you can fit one finger between the cuff and your arm.

WARNING! Do not apply the cuff over clothing. Tight sleeves should be rolled up, not constricting the arm.

Taking a Measurement

Remain still and quiet during the measurement cycle.

  1. Ensure you are relaxed. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring.
  2. Apply the cuff correctly as described in Section 6.
  3. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain still, do not talk, and keep your arm relaxed until the measurement is complete.
  5. The cuff will deflate automatically. Your systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings will display.
  6. The reading will be stored automatically in the memory for the selected user.
  7. To turn the unit off, press the START/STOP button again, or it will power off automatically after 1 minute.

Tip: For the most accurate tracking, take measurements at the same time each day, such as morning and evening.
