Intended Use & Safety

This device is intended for non-invasive measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate from the upper arm of adult patients in home environments.

  1. Consult your physician before use if you have arrhythmia, pre-eclampsia, or other circulatory disorders.
  2. Do not use on infants, children, or persons who cannot express themselves.
  3. Wait at least 30 minutes after eating, smoking, exercising, or bathing before measuring.
  4. Remain still and quiet during measurement; do not talk.

Initial Setup

Before first use: Install batteries, set date/time, apply cuff properly.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Set date and time: Press MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust values.
  3. Select user: Press MEMORY briefly to toggle between User 1 and User 2.
  4. Cuff application: Wrap cuff on bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow, align artery marker with brachial artery.

CAUTION! Do not use rechargeable batteries. Ensure cuff is not twisted and fits snugly but not too tight.

Taking a Measurement

For most accurate results, measure at the same time each day in a quiet environment.

  1. Sit comfortably with feet flat on floor, back supported, arm resting on table.
  2. Apply cuff to left arm (or as directed by physician) at heart level.
  3. Press START/STOP button. Monitor will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain still and quiet until measurement is complete and cuff deflates.
  5. Readings display: Systolic, Diastolic, Pulse. Symbols appear for irregularities.
  6. Press START/STOP again to turn off, or monitor turns off automatically after 1 minute.

Tip: Wait 2-3 minutes between measurements on the same person.

Understanding Results

Normal range: Systolic <120 mmHg, Diastolic <80 mmHg (per American Heart Association).

Memory Function

2-user memory with 100 readings each. Press MEMORY button to recall stored readings.

  1. Select user: Press MEMORY briefly to toggle between User 1 and User 2.
  2. View memory: Press and hold MEMORY to scroll through stored readings with date/time.
  3. Average mode: Displays average of last 3 readings taken within 10 minutes.
  4. Clear memory: Remove batteries for 24 hours to clear all memory (date/time must be reset).

Tip: Record readings in a log book along with notes about medication, activity, or symptoms.

Care & Maintenance

Clean monitor with soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse in water or use chemicals.

  1. Store in carrying case when not in use.
  2. Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, and direct sunlight.
  3. Remove batteries if not using for extended period.
  4. Clean cuff with mild soap and damp cloth if soiled; air dry completely.
  5. Inspect air tube regularly for cracks or leaks.
