Getting Started

Prepare the device for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Set date and time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust.
  3. Attach cuff: Connect cuff tube to the air connector on left side of unit.
  4. Test operation: Apply cuff properly and take a practice measurement.

CAUTION! Use only recommended batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Applying the Cuff

Proper cuff application is essential for accurate readings.

  1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measurement.
  2. Remove tight clothing from upper arm.
  3. Place cuff on bare arm with artery marker over brachial artery.
  4. Wrap cuff snugly with bottom edge 0.5-1 inch above elbow.
  5. Rest arm on table with cuff at heart level.

Tip: Do not talk or move during measurement. Keep feet flat on floor.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate blood pressure measurement.

  1. Select user: Press MEMORY to select User 1 or User 2 (indicator shows on display).
  2. Apply cuff: Follow proper cuff application procedure.
  3. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button.
  4. Remain still: Cuff inflates automatically. Do not move or talk.
  5. Read results: Systolic, diastolic, and pulse appear on display.
  6. Store reading: Reading automatically stores to selected user's memory.
  7. Remove cuff: After measurement completes and cuff deflates.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff more than once within 2 minutes to allow circulation to return.

Memory Function

View and manage stored readings.

  1. Recall readings: Press MEMORY button to view stored readings for selected user.
  2. Scroll through readings: Press START/STOP to scroll through stored readings.
  3. Clear memory: Press and hold MEMORY for 5 seconds while in memory mode to clear all readings for selected user.
  4. Average reading: First displayed reading shows average of last 3 readings.

Note: Memory full indicator appears when 100 readings are stored for a user.

Care & Maintenance

Clean and store properly to ensure longevity.

  1. Clean cuff: Use mild soap and damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.
  2. Clean unit: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  3. Store properly: Keep in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  4. Remove batteries: If not using for extended period (3 months or more).
  5. Replace cuff: If cracks, tears, or leaks develop.
