Safety Precautions

Before using the device, read all safety instructions.

  1. Do not use the monitor on infants, small children, or persons who cannot express themselves.
  2. Do not use the monitor on an arm with an intravenous drip or shunt.
  3. Do not use the monitor during dialysis.
  4. Do not use the monitor if you have a pre-existing condition that could be aggravated by pressure on the arm.
  5. Consult your physician before use if you have an arrhythmia, blood disease, or other circulatory problems.

Parts Identification

Familiarize yourself with the main components of the monitor.

  1. Main Unit: Houses the display, control buttons, and internal pump.
  2. Arm Cuff: Wraps around your upper arm. Contains the air tube and D-ring.
  3. AC Adapter Jack: Located on the side of the unit for connecting the AC adapter.
  4. START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops the measurement.
  5. MEMORY Button: Accesses stored readings and user selection.
  6. TIME SET Button: Sets the date and time.
  7. Air Tube: Connects the cuff to the main unit.

CAUTION! Ensure the cuff is the correct size for your arm. Using an improperly sized cuff can lead to inaccurate readings.

Initial Setup

Prepare the monitor for first-time use.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back and insert 4 AA batteries, observing polarity.
  2. Set Date and Time: Press the TIME SET button and use the MEMORY button to adjust values. Press START/STOP to confirm.
  3. Select User: Press the MEMORY button to toggle between User 1 and User 2 icons on the display.
  4. Connect the Cuff: Plug the air tube firmly into the port on the side of the main unit.

Tip: For consistent results, take measurements at the same time each day, before meals or medication.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for an accurate reading.

  1. Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and back supported.
  2. Wrap the cuff around your bare upper arm, 1-2 cm above the elbow. The tube should run down the center of your arm.
  3. Secure the cuff snugly using the cloth D-ring. It should be tight enough that only two fingers fit underneath.
  4. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level. Relax and remain still.
  5. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically.
  6. Remain still and quiet until the measurement is complete and the cuff deflates.
  7. Your systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings will be displayed.

WARNING! Do not move or talk during the measurement, as this can affect accuracy.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the AC adapter and remove batteries before cleaning.

  1. Clean the cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash or immerse in water.
  2. Clean the main unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  3. Store the device in its case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust.
  4. Do not bend or twist the air tube excessively.
  5. Replace the cuff if it becomes cracked or damaged.
