Initial Setup

Before first use, install batteries or connect AC adapter, set date and time, and apply cuff properly.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity, close cover.
  2. Set date and time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust values.
  3. Connect cuff: Plug cuff tube into cuff connector on side of unit until it clicks.
  4. Apply cuff: Wrap cuff on bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow, align artery marker with brachial artery.

Tip: For most accurate readings, rest for 5 minutes before measuring, avoid caffeine, smoking, and exercise for 30 minutes prior.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate blood pressure measurement:

  1. Sit comfortably with feet flat on floor, back supported, and arm resting on table at heart level.
  2. Apply cuff properly as described in Initial Setup.
  3. Select user: Press USER 1 or USER 2 button (LED will indicate selected user).
  4. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button. Cuff will inflate automatically.
  5. Remain still and quiet during measurement. Do not move arm or talk.
  6. Read results: Systolic, diastolic, and pulse rate will display when measurement completes.
  7. Cuff deflation: Cuff deflates automatically after measurement.
  8. View average: Press START/STOP within 1 minute to see average of last 3 readings.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped around arm. Do not take measurements more than 3 times consecutively; wait 5 minutes between measurements.

Memory Function

The device stores 100 readings for each of 2 users with date and time stamp.

  1. To recall memory: Press MEMORY button to view stored readings.
  2. Navigate readings: Press USER 1 or USER 2 to switch between users. Press START/STOP to scroll through readings.
  3. Clear memory: Press and hold USER 1 and USER 2 simultaneously for 3 seconds to clear all readings for selected user.
  4. Average calculation: Device automatically calculates average of last 3 readings taken within 10 minutes.

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are replaced if done within 3 minutes. For longer battery replacement, memory may be lost.

CAUTION! Never immerse monitor in water or other liquids. Do not autoclave or sterilize with ethylene oxide gas.
