Safety Precautions

Before using the monitor, read all safety instructions carefully.

  1. Do not use the monitor on infants, young children, or persons who cannot express themselves.
  2. Do not use the monitor on an arm with an intravenous drip or shunt.
  3. Do not use the monitor during dialysis.
  4. Consult your physician before use if you have arrhythmia, arterial sclerosis, or poor circulation.
  5. Do not modify the monitor or cuff.
  6. Keep the monitor away from children and pets.

Parts Identification

Familiarize yourself with the main components of the monitor.

  1. Main Unit: Contains LCD display, START/STOP button, MEMORY button, power port.
  2. D-Ring Cuff: Wraps around upper arm with metal D-ring and cloth fastener.
  3. Air Tube: Connects the cuff to the main unit.
  4. AC Adapter Jack: For connecting the AC adapter (DC 6V).
  5. Battery Compartment: Holds 4 AA batteries (not included).
  6. Storage Case: For storing the monitor and accessories.

CAUTION! Do not bend or kink the air tube excessively.

Setting Up the Monitor

Prepare the monitor for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity, close cover.
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug adapter into DC 6V jack on monitor, then plug into wall outlet (optional).
  3. Set date and time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust values.
  4. Attach cuff: Connect cuff air plug to the air jack on the left side of the monitor until it clicks.

Tip: For most accurate readings, use AC adapter power or fresh alkaline batteries.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate blood pressure measurement.

  1. Sit comfortably: Rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Sit with back straight, feet flat on floor.
  2. Wrap the cuff: Place cuff on bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow. Tube should be centered over artery.
  3. Position arm: Rest arm on table so cuff is at heart level. Palm should be facing up.
  4. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button. Cuff will inflate automatically.
  5. Remain still: Do not move or talk during measurement.
  6. Read results: Systolic, diastolic, and pulse rate will display. Monitor will automatically deflate.
  7. Power off: Unit turns off automatically 1 minute after last button press.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped around arm. Do not take measurements more than 3 times in succession.

Memory Function

The monitor stores up to 14 readings with date and time.

  1. View memory: Press MEMORY button to cycle through stored readings. Display shows reading number, systolic/diastolic values, pulse, date, and time.
  2. Clear memory: To clear all memory, remove batteries or unplug AC adapter for 1 minute. All stored data will be erased.
  3. Memory full: When 14 readings are stored, the oldest reading is automatically overwritten by the newest.

Note: Memory cannot be transferred to another device. For long-term tracking, record readings in a log.

  1. Clean with soft, dry cloth only. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or abrasive cleaners.
  2. Store in provided case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  3. Remove batteries if monitor will not be used for 3 months or longer.
  4. Do not immerse monitor or cuff in water. Do not autoclave.
  5. Inspect cuff periodically for cracks or tears. Replace if damaged.
