Parts Identification

Familiarize yourself with the monitor components.

  1. Main Unit: Contains display, control buttons, and internal pump/valve.
  2. Arm Cuff: Wraps around upper arm. Includes air tube, metal D-ring, and Velcro closure.
  3. Display: Shows measurement results, icons, date, and time.
  4. START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops measurement.
  5. Memory Button (M): Recalls stored readings and sets user mode (User 1 or 2).
  6. AC Adapter Jack: For optional external power (located on side of unit).
  7. Battery Compartment: Holds 4 AA batteries (located on bottom).

CAUTION! Do not bend or kink the air tube. Ensure cuff cloth is clean and free of tears.

Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Power on the monitor and set the date/time.

  1. Install Batteries: Open battery compartment on bottom. Insert 4 AA batteries, observing polarity (+/-). Close cover.
  2. Set Date/Time: Press and hold the Memory (M) button for 3 seconds until the year flashes. Use START/STOP to adjust value, press M to confirm and move to month, day, hour, minute.
  3. Select User: Briefly press M button to toggle between User 1 and User 2 icon on display. Ensure correct user is selected before measuring.
  4. AC Adapter (Optional): Plug adapter into jack on side and into wall outlet. The monitor will use AC power and not drain batteries.

Note: If "E" appears on display, check battery installation or replace batteries.

Applying the Cuff

Correct cuff placement is essential for accurate readings.

  1. Sit comfortably on a chair with feet flat on floor, back supported.
  2. Bare your left upper arm (or right arm as recommended by your doctor).
  3. Pass the end of the cuff through the metal D-ring to form a loop. The tube should be on the inside of your arm, aligned with your middle finger.
  4. Position the cuff 1-2 cm above your elbow. The artery marker (△) on the cuff should be over your brachial artery.
  5. Secure the cuff snugly using the Velcro. You should be able to fit one finger between cuff and arm.
  6. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level. Relax, palm up.

Tip: Avoid talking or moving during measurement. Take measurements at the same time each day for consistency.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for a proper reading.

  1. Ensure correct user (User 1 or 2) is selected on display.
  2. Apply the cuff as described in Section 6.
  3. Press the START/STOP button. All display icons will appear briefly.
  4. The cuff will inflate automatically. The monitor determines the optimal inflation level.
  5. As the cuff deflates, your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed.
  6. The measurement is complete when the cuff fully deflates. The reading is automatically stored in memory for the selected user.
  7. Remove the cuff. The monitor will power off automatically after 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate the cuff when it is not wrapped around your arm. If you feel excessive pressure, press START/STOP to stop immediately.

Memory Function & Data Review

The monitor stores up to 100 readings for each of two users.

  1. To Review Memory: Press the Memory (M) button once. The display shows the most recent reading with a memory number (e.g., 100).
  2. Scroll Through Readings: Press START/STOP to view older readings. The memory number decreases.
  3. View Average: After displaying the first (latest) reading, press M again within 3 seconds. The average of the last 3 readings (taken within last 10 minutes) will be displayed.
  4. Exit Memory Mode: Press M again or wait for automatic power-off.
  5. Clear All Memory: With the unit off, press and hold the M button while inserting batteries (or turning on with AC). "CLR" will appear, then "0". All readings for both users are erased.
