Initial Setup & Cuff Application

Proper cuff placement is essential for accurate measurements.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Set Date/Time: Press MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust.
  3. Apply Cuff:
    • Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measurement
    • Place cuff on bare left upper arm (2-3 cm above elbow)
    • Ensure air tube is centered over inner arm
    • Wrap cuff snugly but not too tight (should fit one finger underneath)
    • Rest arm on table with palm up, cuff at heart level
  4. Connect Cuff: Plug cuff tube into monitor port until it clicks.

Tip: For most accurate results, measure at the same time each day, before medication and meals.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for proper blood pressure measurement.

  1. Sit in a chair with back supported and feet flat on floor.
  2. Apply cuff correctly as described in section 7.
  3. Press USER button to select User 1 or User 2.
  4. Press START/STOP button - monitor will inflate automatically.
  5. Remain still and quiet during measurement - do not move or talk.
  6. Monitor will deflate automatically and display results.
  7. Results show: Systolic pressure (top), Diastolic pressure (middle), Pulse rate (bottom).
  8. Hypertension indicator shows color: Green (normal), Yellow (pre-hypertension), Red (hypertension).
  9. If irregular heartbeat detected, symbol appears next to pulse reading.
  10. Reading is automatically stored in memory for selected user.

Note: If body movement is detected, error symbol appears. Remain still and retry.

Using the OMRON Connect App

Sync readings to smartphone for tracking and sharing with healthcare provider.

  1. Download "OMRON Connect" app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on smartphone.
  3. Press Bluetooth button on monitor for 3 seconds - Bluetooth symbol flashes.
  4. Open app and follow pairing instructions.
  5. After measurement, readings automatically sync to app when in range.
  6. App features: Trend graphs, averages, export data, multiple user profiles, medication tracking.
  7. To disconnect, press Bluetooth button again or turn off monitor.

Compatibility: Requires iOS 10.0 or later, Android 5.0 or later.

Memory Recall & Data Management

Monitor stores 100 readings per user (200 total).

  1. View Recent Reading: Press MEMORY button once to display last reading.
  2. Scroll Through Memory: Press MEMORY repeatedly to scroll through stored readings.
  3. View Average: Press MEMORY and USER simultaneously to display average of last 3 readings taken within 10 minutes.
  4. Clear Memory:
    • To clear single user: While in memory mode for that user, press and hold MEMORY for 3 seconds
    • To clear all memory: Remove batteries and AC adapter, wait 1 minute, reinsert
  5. Memory Full: When memory is full, oldest reading is automatically deleted for new reading.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care ensures accurate measurements and long device life.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe monitor with soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or abrasive cleaners.
  2. Cuff Care: Hand wash cuff in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Air dry completely before use.
  3. Storage: Store in provided case in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  4. Batteries: Replace batteries when low battery symbol appears. Remove batteries if not using for extended period.
  5. AC Adapter: Use only provided AC adapter. Do not use if damaged.
  6. Do Not: Disassemble, expose to extreme temperatures, drop or subject to strong impact.
