Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate readings.

  1. Sit comfortably with back supported and feet flat on floor for 5 minutes.
  2. Wrap cuff on bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow, aligning artery marker with brachial artery.
  3. Secure cuff snugly; tube should run down center of arm toward palm.
  4. Rest arm on table with cuff at heart level; palm facing upward.
  5. Press START button; cuff will inflate automatically.
  6. Remain still and quiet until measurement completes and cuff deflates.
  7. Read results on display; note systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings.
