Taking a Measurement
Follow these steps for accurate readings.
- Sit comfortably with back supported and feet flat on floor for 5 minutes.
- Wrap cuff on bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow, aligning artery marker with brachial artery.
- Secure cuff snugly; tube should run down center of arm toward palm.
- Rest arm on table with cuff at heart level; palm facing upward.
- Press START button; cuff will inflate automatically.
- Remain still and quiet until measurement completes and cuff deflates.
- Read results on display; note systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings.
- Press STOP to turn off display, or wait 1 minute for auto power-off.
WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped on arm. Excessive pressure may cause injury.
Understanding Results
- Systolic Pressure: Top number - pressure when heart beats.
- Diastolic Pressure: Bottom number - pressure between beats.
- Pulse: Heart rate in beats per minute.
- Hypertension Indicator: Heart symbol flashes if reading exceeds 135/85 mmHg.
- Irregular Heartbeat Symbol: Appears if irregular rhythm detected during measurement.
- Movement Error: Hand symbol appears if excessive movement detected.
- Cuff Error: Appears if cuff is improperly placed or too loose.
Note: Single readings may vary. Track trends over time for meaningful data.
Memory Function
Device stores readings for two users.
- Select user: Press USER 1 or USER 2 before measurement.
- View memory: Press MEMORY button to scroll through stored readings.
- Average reading: Automatically calculates average of last 3 readings taken within 10 minutes.
