Initial Setup & Wearing the Cuff

Proper cuff placement is essential for an accurate reading.

  1. Insert 4 AA batteries or connect the AC adapter to the main unit and a wall outlet.
  2. Sit quietly on a chair with your feet flat on the floor for 5 minutes before measuring.
  3. Remove tight clothing from your upper left arm. Place the cuff on your bare arm.
  4. Pass the end of the cuff through the metal D-ring to form a loop. The air tube should run down the center of your arm.
  5. Secure the cuff snugly using the Velcro closure. There should be enough room to slip one finger under the cuff.
  6. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at the same level as your heart.

Tip: Always use the same arm for consistent readings. The left arm is recommended.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for a proper reading.

  1. Press the START/STOP button. All display symbols will appear briefly.
  2. The cuff will inflate automatically. Remain still and quiet. Do not move your arm or talk.
  3. As the cuff deflates, your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed.
  4. The measurement is complete when the cuff is fully deflated. The reading will be stored automatically in memory.
  5. To turn the unit off, press the START/STOP button again, or it will power off automatically after 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate the cuff more than once within a 5-minute interval, as this may cause discomfort or inaccurate readings.
