Cuff Sizing Guide

Correct cuff size is critical for accurate measurements. Measure your arm circumference.

Cuff SizeArm Circumference RangeIndicator Mark Alignment
Standard9" - 13" (22 cm - 32 cm)Arrows within the range lines
Large13" - 17" (33 cm - 43 cm)Arrows within the range lines

How to Measure: Use a soft tape measure around the midpoint of your bare upper arm, between shoulder and elbow.

CAUTION! Using a cuff that is too small or too large will give unreliable readings.

Applying the Cuff

Follow these steps for proper cuff placement.

  1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring. Remove any tight clothing from your arm.
  2. Hold the cuff by the D-Ring. Slide your arm through the loop so the D-Ring is on the outside of your arm.
  3. Position the cuff so the bottom edge is about 0.5 - 1 inch (1-2 cm) above your elbow. The air tube should run down the center of your arm, over the brachial artery.
  4. Pull the end of the cuff snugly across your arm and press the cloth onto the hook material. Do not wrap too tightly.
  5. Check the range indicator. The lines or arrows must be within the marked area. If not, the cuff size is incorrect.
  6. Sit with your back straight, feet flat on the floor, and rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.

Connecting to a Monitor

Ensure a secure connection to your Omron blood pressure monitor.

  1. Turn off the monitor before connecting.
  2. Locate the cuff connector port on the side or front of your monitor.
  3. Align the universal connector on the air tube with the port. It will only fit one way.
  4. Push the connector firmly into the port until it clicks or seats fully. Do not force it.
  5. Turn on the monitor. It is now ready for use.

Tip: Ensure the air tube is not twisted or pinched between the cuff and the monitor.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care extends the life of your cuff.

CAUTION! Never machine wash, dry clean, iron, or expose to direct heat. This can damage the internal bladder.
