Safety Precautions

Getting Started

Prepare the monitor for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Connect AC adapter: Plug into DC jack on side of unit and into wall outlet.
  3. Set date and time: Press and hold CLOCK button, use SET to adjust.
  4. Apply cuff: Wrap cuff around bare upper arm 1-2 cm above elbow.
  5. Position arm: Rest arm on table with cuff at heart level.

CAUTION! Ensure cuff is properly sized and positioned for accurate readings.

Proper Measurement Technique

For accurate results, follow these steps each time:

  1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring.
  2. Sit in a chair with feet flat on floor and back supported.
  3. Apply cuff to bare upper arm (left arm recommended).
  4. Position cuff at heart level (elbow level with heart).
  5. Press START/STOP button.
  6. Remain still and quiet during inflation and measurement.
  7. Read results when measurement completes.
  8. Record reading in log if desired.

Tip: Take measurements at the same time each day for consistent tracking.

Understanding Your Readings

The monitor displays systolic pressure (top number), diastolic pressure (bottom number), and pulse rate.

Care & Maintenance

  4. Do not drop or subject to strong shocks.
  5. Replace cuff if torn or damaged.
